These handmade house brooms are the definition of functional art. With a unique rustic appeal, these brooms look beautiful just hanging on your wall! But don't be afraid to sweep with them, because they work wonderfully. Their rigid brushes make them great daily sweepers for all floor types. From a rough slate tile entryway to fine wood flooring (won't scratch!). These are the only brooms you will ever need. Brooms have long been a customary gift for housewarming and weddings to symbolize getting a fresh start and leaving all your old dirt behind. All of our brooms are handcrafted using only the highest quality broom corn and hardwoods, which we hand harvest in the Pacific Northwest. We kiln dry the hardwoods to preserve the natural bark exterior and create a beautiful rustic handle. With exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, our brooms will last you a long, long time.

Broom making is a craft that dates back to ancient times. People would tie grass and twigs onto a stick, or just use a tree branch as a primitive broom to keep their surroundings tidy. In the 1800's the Shakers developed a vise that allowed them to craft a broom that was pressed flat. This created a much more efficient sweeping brush. We use the same techniques that were developed over 200 years ago to craft our brooms today.
